2018 Summer Tour Highlights

2018 Summer Tour Highlights

We’ve been touring all summer long and have met some great people and handed out over 3 billion pounds of ice cream! Here’s a few of our favorites!

Cache Valley CruiseIn

The Cache Valley Cruise-In is a rod run event held each year in Logan, Utah hosted by the Cache Valley Cruising Association. All types and models of specialty vehicles are invited to attend this fun three-day event.

The Cruise-In has been running for 36 years strong, and has grown each year attracting over 1,000 vehicles including Street Rods, Street Machines, Customs, Restored Vehicles, Motorcycles, and Trucks. Over 30,000 people attend this memorable and fun event, and we got to have in on some of the action by handing out over 250 FatBoys to people in attendance. There’s nothing quite like cooling yourself off with a refreshing treat and enjoying a good car show while you’re at it.

Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill is a family fun park nestled in Kaysville, Utah that has been around for over 50 years. From campgrounds, to miniature golf, to batting cages, rock climbing, themed attractions, and a fun waterpark, they have it all! They are quite literally the one-stop shop for family fun.

This year was our second opportunity of handing out some delicious chilled refreshments at the water park–our Freeze Pops. We handed out over 600 of these popular treats in every flavor. These made for the perfect refreshment on a hot summer day at the pool.

Summerfest

The Summerfest Arts Fair is an annual event held on the grounds of the Logan Tabernacle in northern Utah. They celebrate the arts in Cache Valley by bringing people together to enjoy a festival of high-quality art, music, and food.

This three-day event attracts visitors form all over as they walk through the grounds and enjoy visual art displays including drawings, digital prints, custom paintings, ceramics, jewelry, metalwork, photography, woodwork, and toys. Visitors can also enjoy several live shows by performing artists, eat delicious food from a variety of food vendors, and enter some fun contests.

We enjoyed all of these ourselves as we walked around and handed out over 250 FatBoy sandwiches.

State Capitol “Taste of Utah”

The second annual “Taste of Utah” was a fun event held at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City on July 18 this year. Here, several small businesses, including Casper’s Ice Cream, were invited to share samples of their food products to send to the nation’s capitol.

A semi-truck trailer was loaded with locally produced food products including artisan breads and cheeses, doughnuts, taffy, pies, French dip, nonalcoholic brews, salsa, popcorn and vinegars, and of course–our infamous FatBoy Ice Cream Sandwiches. These products were sent to Washington, D.C. to showcase the Beehive State’s best products and give government leaders and workers there a literal “taste of Utah.”

We handed out more than 300 FatBoy sandwiches at this event, sharing with local Utah Senators and leaders, and sending even more in the semi-truck trailer to D.C. What a fun event to be a part of in representing the state of Utah!

Ragnar Trail Snowmass

The Ragnar Trail Snowmass is a two-day run relay in the heart of the beautiful Rocky Mountains located at a ski resort in Colorado. Here, adventurers can enjoy the beauty of nature, camping, and awesome trails.

Participants get to cycle through a series of challenging trail loops both day and night to leave them with an unforgettable experience of nature’s beauty, and hard teamwork. We were there as runners crossed the finish line to reward them with, you guessed it–some delicious FatBoy ice cream sandwiches. We may not have run the race, but we got a great workout in as we handed out over 2,500 FatBoys that day.

What a fun summer we’ve had touring around and sharing our popular ice cream novelties and frozen treats! We have loved meeting new people and seeing how much everyone loves our products. We look forward to seeing you again next summer!
