Useful Stocking Stuffers that Won’t Break the Bank

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that they’d find something useful hidden in there…

Okay, so maybe that’s not how the original “Twas the Night Before Christmas” story goes, but it’s definitely a thought that crosses people’s minds sometimes. Isn’t it?

Remember how you used to feel as a kid on Christmas morning? The anticipation to catch Santa and his reindeer and open presents probably kept you up all night. You probably woke your parents up before the sun rose that day. Then, once the time had come, you carefully crept into the family room where the Christmas magic had happened. You “Ooed” and “Awed” over all the gifts jolly ol’ Saint Nick left. And just when you thought it was over, you remembered the stockings draped over the fireplace, bursting with even more surprises.

How often do you get excited about what’s inside your Christmas stocking nowadays? Help bring back that joy you had as a child by sharing some of these useful and fun stocking stuffers with your family (and yourself):

Fatboys

It’s probably a safe bet that most Christmas stockings are stuffed with candy. It’s what’s expected. Of course everyone wants a fun treat Christmas morning! But how about giving them a treat they’ll REALLY enjoy? While we know FatBoys can’t sit in a stocking all night without melting and dripping all over, you can help Santa leave a little note or a scavenger hunt for your loved ones that leads them to a freezer full of their favorite flavors of FatBoy Ice Cream! Now that’s something they won’t expect or see coming!

Chapstick

It’s winter time, which means a lot of people are suffering with chapped/dry skin. Because the humidity levels drop, keeping the skin hydrated becomes difficult. Share some Chapstick or lip balm in your stockings will help those lips pucker right up under the mistletoe.

Toothbrush

After all the sweets and treats you’ve indulged in this holiday season, a new toothbrush is a practical gift that anyone could use. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Even if you already have a toothbrush, who couldn’t use a backup or traveling toothbrush?

Phone Accessories

Get a new phone for Christmas? How about some small accessories to go along with it? Charging cords, earphones, car mounts, phone case, pop socket, etc, are all the perfect companions for your new device!

Gift cards

Santa knows that during the holidays you’re tired of hosting and cooking for everyone else. Enjoy a night off with dinner on Santa, a gift card to a movie theater where you can relax from all the stress of the holidays, or grab yourself the gift Santa was “supposed to get.”

Makeup

Got a teenage drama queen on your hands? She’s sure to put away the attitude for the day if she finds some new makeup in her stocking.

Socks/ Slippers

What about the family member who seems hard to please? They just want to lay around all day. Get them some new socks or slippers! You can’t spell “comfortable” without writing “comfort”!

Batteries

All those toys won’t work without some batteries! The kids may not appreciate them so much immediately, but they definitely will later when the inexpensive batteries that came with their toys go out.

Card games

Got a gamer on your hands? Give them a new set of face cards, some dice, or a small travel-sized game. Games like Spot It, Uno, and Exploding Kittens are small, and easy to learn.

Crafts

Every family has an artsy person in it. In this case, their stocking could have coloring books, crayons, Play-doh, scrapbooking supplies, paints, brushes, crochet hooks, yarn, fabric, etc. The possibilities are endless! (Just be prepared for a messy cleanup afterwards)

Books & Movies

Got a bookworm on your hands? Or how about a movie-goer?  Books and movies are great stocking stuffers because they’re small and they’ll keep people entertained for hours!

These stocking stuffers aren’t meant to break the bank. They’re meant to be appreciated. We hope you appreciate the many gifts that surround you this Christmas season. And remember to share the love by sharing your favorite FatBoys with your loved ones.
