We all know ice cream is wonderful. It’s there for us nearly every time we celebrate. It’s there to comfort us when we’re going through tough times, and it’s nearly woven into the fabric of American culture. In fact, it was a favorite among founding fathers like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and, of course, Benjamin Franklin Furthermore, Dolly Madison even served it at her husband’s inaugural ball—quite the novelty in 1815
As a matter of fact, celebrating ice cream in America isn’t just a cultural thing we do. It’s the law
You read that right. Ice Cream is such a part of America that in 1984, a Senator from Kentucky named Walter Dee Huddleston sponsored a bill that proclaimed July to be National Ice Cream Month, and that the first National Ice Cream Day would be July 15th, 1984. That bill’s counterpart in the U.S. House of Representatives was sponsored by Rep. Kika de la Garza from Texas. Once both bills passed, President Regan signed the bill into law as Presidential Proclamation 5219 on July 9th, 1984.
Ever since, throughout July, Americans throughout the land celebrate National Ice Cream Month. And the pinnacle of that month each year is National Ice Cream Day. This year, National Ice Cream Day falls on Sunday July 19th, and we at FatBoy are ready to celebrate in style!

On Sunday July 19th, FatBoy Ice Cream will choose one lucky winner who will receive a prize box full of random FatBoy goodies every month for a year! That’s right! We’re going to keep one FatBoy Ice Cream fan fully stocked for a year on us
Each prize box will contain $30 worth of random FatBoy Ice Cream products. That’s about five or six boxes of different treats!
You may get a box of Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches, or a box of Toffee Ice Cream Sundaes!
